Cabana Brasilian Barbecue Event

Last Thursday It was time to go to my first blogging event over at Cabana Brasilian Barbecue in Leeds! The event was held to let you experience a taste of their new all day dining menu and it sounded delicious. This was the first time me or my friend Grace had ever been to Cabana so we were very exited to try it out!
As soon as we walked into the restaurant everybody was so friendly and we were offered a drink straight away, Grace had a glass of red wine and I had a can of Sumol passion fruit (as I don't drink anyway). On the way to sit down Grace was also given a Caipirinha, which she ended up having another three of, so I think its safe to say that she thought they were lovely!
We were then brought over various samples of the new menu to try, starting with the malagueta hummus with cucumber and carrot sticks which was a lovely healthy snack. followed by a serving of SalchiPapa, this was a bowl of sweet potato fries with malagueta mayo and topped with pork and papaya sausage. I'd have to say that out of everything I tried that evening, the SalchiPapa was my favourite and I was extremely happy when I saw the waitress heading over to our table with another bowl!
The next things we got to try were the spicy malagueta chicken lettuce wraps and the bahian coconut curry. I'm not usually a lover of curry, but I really did enjoy this as did Grace and it wasn't long until the bowl was empty. My rubbish picture doesn't do it justice at all, it was so tasty as were the spicy malagueta chicken wraps!
Last of all were the churros! when they arrived at our table they looked delicious and I was convinced I would love them, probably because there was a pot of chocolate that was sat next to them! However it turned out that this was the one thing that I wasn't too keen on. Grace really liked them on the other hand but like I said, the Salchipapa was my favourite!

One thing I loved about the restaurant was the atmosphere. Even though the restaurant was busy full of people trying the new menu, the atmosphere was so relaxed! Cabana also had a fantastic musician who was playing for the evening, who kept everybody entertained with his wonderful music.

Something else both me and Grace loved was the decor, some of the seats were covered in old denim jeans, whilst copper lanterns hung from the ceiling. I'm also now determined to find those l
lanterns and cover my bedroom in them, haha!
On our way out of the event, the organisers handed us a goody bag each which included a cocktail voucher, a cabana bucks voucher and some chocolates, which was so lovely of them! I've already decided that the next time I go back, I'm ordering the dough balls, which look so good

I really loved going to my first blogging event at Cabana and I'm so glad I was invited along.

BBTAG 10 Fun Questions & Answers!

Thank you to the lovely Eleri over at Spa Me Away, who has tagged me to do this fun beauty Q&A tag! I hope you enjoy finding out more about my beauty favourites and routines!

What is your proudest beauty moment?
I think I'd have to say that my proudest beauty moment was my birthday back in February. I spent ages doing my makeup and crossing my fingers that my eyeliner wouldn't smudge just like it usually does! Luckily it didn't and I was so happy that all my make up stayed put and looked good all night!

What is your most daring beauty moment?
This definitely has to be my prom! I did my own make up for this and as much as I loved make up, I wasn't as interested in it as I am now. As well as that YouTube and 'beauty gurus' weren't as big back then, so you didn't have all the brilliant tutorials and advice to learn from like you do now!

Are there any beauty looks/trends you would like to try?
One beauty look I'd love to finally master, is the winged liner look! I love eyeliner but if I try to do the perfect wing, its never goes right. I usually end up with wonky looking eyes and looking as though I've just been punched!

Have you had any beauty disasters?
Oh yes, so many! especially when I was just starting to figure make up out! I'm sure a lot of people did the same thing as me, but when I was about 14/15 years old, more was definitely better! I always used tons of mascara and ended up with thick horrid lashes and I can always remember asking my friend to do my foundation flawless like hers (which actually meant 'will you apply half a tube of foundation so it takes me 500 make up wipes to get rid). As you can probably guess, we cringe when we see old photos of ourselves!

Would you like to make any changes to your skincare/beauty routine?
I'd love to find some new skincare products for my skin type and learn more about the various benefits and create a better skincare routine for myself.

Of course it wouldn’t be SPA ME AWAY without some spa related questions! What do you do at home to pamper yourself?
I usually apply my favourite face mask and run a nice hot bath whilst I'm waiting to rinse it off. I love to add a fancy Lush bath bomb if I have any or if not I add plenty of bubbles! After my bath I tend to get the Ben & Jerry's ice cream out and eat far too much, whilst cosying up and watching a funny film!

What is your favourite spa treatment? If you’ve never been to a spa, what spa treatment would you like to try?
I've never been to a spa before! The gym I'm a member of has one that I've been meaning to go to for so long now, but I would definitely have a massage and a facial.

What is your feel good beauty product?
I love my Lush Oatifix face mask! It always leaves my skin so soft and moisturized which makes me feel more confident as I know that my skin will look good! I also love my Urban Decay Naked eye shadow palettes as the quality is brilliant and I know that it will last all day whenever I apply it!

Where/who is your favourite beauty place/person and why? This can be your beautician, local makeup counter or store, hairdresser, spa or anyone or anywhere in between! Spread the love & Tag them!
My favourite beauty place to go is my local hairdressers, I always leave feeling like my hair looks fabulous haha! Other than that I love going for a browse around Boots & Debenhams.

What beauty blogger inspires you most and why? Tag them!
Two of my favourite beauty bloggers are Lily Pebbles and Vivianna Does Makeup. I love how passionate they are about beauty and I really admire how consistent and high quality the content on their blogs is!

April Favourites

Lush Oatifix Fresh Face Mask
April has been a month of skincare products for me! I've mentioned before that my skin gets super dry and annoying, so on a recent trip to Lush, I decided to pick up the Oatifix face mask and give it a go. Its fair to say that this is the best face mask I have ever used! The mask contains a blend of oats, banana and vanilla which helps to soothe and moisturize the skin. Whenever I use this mask my skin is so soft and hydrated and is even as nice the next day! I've done a full review of this mask which you can read here.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Micellar waters are my favourite products to use when removing makeup! personally I find them a lot more gentle than makeup wipes, as my skin usually ends up reacting with them, leaving me resembling a ripe tomato. So I knew that when my Nivea micellar water had been all used up that I was going to try the much raved about Garnier one and it did not dissapoint!

Kiko Milano Luxurious Lashes Extra Volume Brush Mascara
Kiko has to be one of my favourite makeup brands, the quality of the products is amazing and the cost too! When I recently popped into the shop I picked up this mascara which was on offer and only cost me £3.90, which is a flipping good price! Now I have tried so many mascaras that claim to be voluminous and have ended up been rubbish, so I wasn't convinced that this one would be any different. Safe to say, I was wrong and it is now one of my favourite mascaras alongside the Max Factor False Lash Effect. I have quite short, wispy lashes but you'd never have known once I applied this, the brush is amazing and I would highly recommend this mascara!

Kiko Milano Caribbean Green Nail Lacquer
Another product from Kiko that I'm loving is this nail varnish, I also picked this up when it was on offer at £2.50, which again I think is a bargain! I don't usually go for glittery nail varnish as I often find that the colour looks quite clear or that I have to apply several coats however when I tested this out in the shop it was so vibrant and colourful I had to get it! (along with two others, whoops!)

Calm: Calm The Mind. Change The World
I tend to get panic attacks in phases and with them my anxiety always gets worse. So having seen so many people saying how good this book is and how much it helps them to relax, I decided to order it and see if it would be any help. This book contains all sorts of different ways to relax including activities, tips and ideas and I love it. I tend to read through this book more when I'm feeling a bit stressed or anxious and I really do think it helps calm me down and relax. The inside of this book is also one of the prettiest book designs I've seen!
